A day at Esperance with Kay McGrath
Award-winning Australian journalist and news presenter, Kay McGrath, joined us recently to chat with the team about our vision for Esperance and to capture some exciting new footage.
It’s not every day that you get a visit from a celebrated television presenter!
The team at Esperance were lucky enough to spend a day recently with award-winning journalist and Queensland news presenter, Kay McGrath.
Not only is Kay a notable television personality and respected journalist, visiting the homes of Australians to deliver the news for almost 40 years, but she is also a proud Patron of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, Patron and co-founder of Protect all Children Today, ambassador of Act for Kids and long time lover of the Gold Coast.
On her final day on the news desk after almost 40 years, Kay said, “I’m not retiring, I’m repurposing.” It’s this same mindset that we are bringing to life at Esperance.
Kay has been very open about embracing her age and the ageing process and believes that you really are as young as you feel. Although she takes good care of herself with a balanced diet and regular exercise, like many other baby boomers Kay also knows the importance of living life to the fullest and not limiting yourself from doing the things you love.
It’s these values that prompted us to invite Kay to meet the team and join us for a day at the future site of Esperance.
With her extensive knowledge of the Gold Coast, philosophy on ageing and overall attitude about embracing life, we knew Kay was the perfect person to help tell the story of Esperance.
Capturing the essence of Esperance
During her visit, Kay chatted with a number of the people who have been heavily involved in different aspects of Esperance, including Reside Communities CEO, Glen Brown, Group Operations Manager, Craig Syphers, Sales Manager, Justin Daniels, Think Tank Architects Director, Michael Jullyan, and Thomson Adsett Interior Design Lead, Katrina Miranda.
In classic Kay McGrath style, her engaging interviews covered topics including the five-star amenity and services, desirability of the location, the inspiration behind the layout of the apartments and how the community design will bring residents together.
The highly anticipated mini-video series will be released in late October on the Esperance website and Facebook page. Make sure you’re following us on Facebook and subscribed to updates so you don’t miss out when they’re released.
Everyone had a lovely day working with Kay and we look forward to welcoming her back to Esperance again.
